Our Independence Day Celebration

I hope everyone had a great Fourth of July! Our family certainly did. Yesterday's church service was wonderful and very patriotic.

We were especially excited about going to the Heard's for a Fourth of July barbecue. The Heard's moved to Suffolk two years ago, and we hadn't seen their new house yet. Their home is beautiful and it was so good to see a lot of our old friends.

Mr. Heard and the boys had erected this huge slip-and-slide down the hill in the back of their yard. They had the sprinkler set up so that it would continually wet the slide. Mr. Heard also put dish soap on it every ten minutes or so, so it was very slippery. There was talk of using olive oil instead of dish soap, but the moms were concerned that some of the kids might end up in the river.

We had lots of fun going down the slipping-slide

By the end of the day, everyone found that the best(fastest and most dangerous) way to go down the slide was to ride on a boogie board.

I've known Casey for as long as I can remember. She is such a sweet girl, and we always have a blast together. I don't get to see her very much now that her family has moved to Suffolk.

Me and my best buddie.

We had a great time! Thanks Heards!
