Meredith's Wedding

In early December, I had the privilege of being a bridesmaid in Meredith Alexander's wedding.  She has several posts written on her blog with pictures.

I've known Meredith since I was about 3 years old.  Our families were attending the same church, but we really got to know them when my parents took a Christian-based parenting class that Mr. and Mrs. Alexander were teaching.

I have memories of Meredith painting my fingernails and letting me fix her hair while our parents visited.  Neither one of us had sisters at the time, and though God has since blessed her with one sweet little sister and me with four, I've always felt a special sister connection to her.

Over the years, Meredith has remained a constant source of encouragement to me, even though I don't get to see her very often.   She's also been a huge blessing to others through her blog, Striving to Serve at Home.

I  hope I can serve my family as diligently and joyfully as she has.  I love you Meredith!

  3. Hi Erin Spencer!

I saw your comment regarding Elliott and Morgan's courtship and clicked over to your blog... For some strange reason, I am just now seeing this post! I follow your blog through my blog reader so I usually get updates and I don't know how this one slipped by in January... What a sweet post, Erin!! I am so glad you were able to be a part of my wedding. It was very special to me to have you there. I also remember painting your toe nails and letting you fix my hair very long ago... :)

I hope you are doing very well and enjoying the spring! I guess your school year is probably wrapping up soon. I know you must be enjoying your new little brother!

Stephen and I found out last week that we are having a baby girl! I am so thrilled. I can't wait to sew little dresses for her and put barrettes in her hair. We are leaning heavily toward naming her Margaret ("Maggie"), but we are still undecided about her middle name.

I hope you and your family are doing very well!

    Much love,
    Meredith

  4. Thanks for the sweet comment Meredith! I've thought about you a lot recently. I hope you are feeling well. You have been at the top of my prayer list ever since I found out that you were expecting.

I'm so excited that you and Stephen are having a girl! You'll have your own "little Meredith". :) I think the name Maggie is adorable.

I'm looking forward to the arrival of your baby girl!

    Love,
    Erin

  5. Meredith's wedding looks like a star-studded affair. I just checked out the photos on her blog and the entire wedding took my friend. I also would be starting out the preparations of my Oscar inspired ceremony and feeling super excited about it. I just don’t know about the suitable Chicago wedding venues for the Oscar themed ceremony. I wonder if you could help me regarding it.
